2005 News

2005 has been a year of ups and downs for APCsport and our driver Andrew Coley. Whilst our plans to contest the British Rally Championship have had to be put on hold due to lack of a title sponsor, Andrew's skills have been very much in demand!

Earlier this year, Andrew appeared on BBC Three TV program ‘Who Would Hire You?' (Click for BBC story) and also travelled to snowy Norway for a spot of training on a frozen lake!! (Click for Norway story) Following his trip to Norway , Andrew was asked to write a full report on his exploits on the frozen lake for ‘Motor Sports Now!' magazine, the UK Motorsport Association's publication.

The Norway story led to a surprise request from ‘British Rally Championship' magazine for Andrew to write a pair of technical articles on suspension and brakes, which of course Andrew accepted. Of his new journalistic exploits, Andrew said:

“Norway and the BBC Three job were cool, but I didn't expect such a positive response. Since the BRC magazine features I've been asked to write a piece for the Tour of Mull rally programme, so things are moving on with the journalism but not with the driving!”

Andrew's magazine appearances haven't just been confined to those he wrote, with stories in ‘Kent Life' (Click for Kent Life story) and even the ‘Evening Standard' featuring our man in his day job as a motorsport instructor. Andrew remarked:

“It's nice to receive some recognition for the team and all the hard work that everyone puts in; I just wish we were out competing on the stages as we'd planned! It's been frustrating but we won't give up and are concentrating on the run up to 2006.”
